12th December 2009 Medical Mother Oh dear Samuel has just found his hair.... the poor little thing. With Hannah we put on a little hat. But it's so hot now I can't do that to him. Mittens... to hot! What to do? Another first for today. Samuel has been trying to lift his head for awhile now. But today he got his head up for ages. He was shaking with determination. I think we will have another head strong little one. What a last few days.... On Thursday (my day off) I got a call from Big Girl School saying "can you come and pick Hannah up, it looks like she has conjunctivitus". Oh dear. So I bundled Samuel up straight away and we headed down to pick her up. We went straight to a chemist to get what we need.... NO we need to go to a doctor. After buzzing around I found one we could wait for an appointment. Sure enough Samuel was hungry and did 'big business'. I had neither nappies or a bottle (I'd run out probably from the stress and shocker of a morning I'd had). What to do? A lady came in with a bigger baby so I asked if I could have a nappy... funny poor Samuel had the nappy up around his armpits. But at least his bum was clean. Then off to the chemist to get the script filled. The bundling in and out with two kids was hard. They were so unsettled and upset. But I made it! So that night I had Samuel with oral thrush and Hannah with conjunctivitis. What a night. Every time Samuel woke I needed to put stuff in his mouth, then go into Hannah and wipe her eyes so she wouldn't wake with her eyes crusted shut. Made for a sleepless night for me, but the kids, though grizzly on friday, were so much better. Friday we said our good-bye & merry christmas to Tam & Hugo. They are off to England for a month. I'm glad Teens and the kids are on their way up or I would be completely lost! For the last few days I've been tyring to get Hannah to have only one sleep during the day. It has worked to get her sleeping back into the 5am time, but it is so hard to keep her up until 11. The last two days I've put her down at 10, but she is clibing into her bed around 5.30! I guess that is okay, she is getting her 12hrs sleep :o) I'm so proud of our little girl. Mum had Buster the dog come and say hi on skpe. When Hannah saw him she said "woof" I know - she is amazing! Then when we were playing on the bed and Hannah said 'Hadi'. I guess the words will start coming soon. 6th December 2009 Big kids food! What a day! Samuel is now quite alert and holding his head up for a good period of time. He is also trying to comando crawl.... I think we have another Hannah on our hands. How he is growing up so quickly. Hannah, I have just noticed has cut her top eye teeth. Thank God! Now it is just the bottom 2 and we'll be over dribbling for awhile. Those bottom two have come and gone so many times over the last 3 months, I'm not holding my breath. This morning I caught Mouse dancing in front of the mirror to video hits! She is mine!!! Yesterday was a big day. It started off with me finding Hannah feeding Samuel white peach! Well so much for holding off on his solids :o) Then Anna came down to play. It was wonderful seeing her. She is such a natural mum with little babies. Samuel snuggled into her most of the day. It is amazing how tense your shoulders get from holding something so small upto your shoulder, and how one day off seems to take the ache away! Mat was a gem he took all the girls out for a walk so Anna and I could have nearly baby free time (well the smallest doesn't count). He made lunch and generally helped out. While Anna and I had girl time. While Anna was here we gave Samuel his first bath! He loved it. Once he got his appropriate 'stunned mullet' look plastered on his face, he just floated gave a little kick and lay there in my arms. It was beautiful. Anna gave Hannah her own little baby, in hope that Samuel maybe left in peace for a wee while each day. Hannah is so good with her baby. She swaddles it (head and all) feeds it, gives it her dummy cuddles it and loves it . .... then dumps it on her head in favour of some other game. 1st November 2009 Baby Shower Karla, a wonderful friend of mine, put on a baby shower for me at Roma St Parklands. She is South American and will find any reason for a party. The kids had a fantastic time running down the hill and at the swings. I had a great time with my friends. Again I saw a photo of me. How can I be getting any bigger? My goodness. I am so glad I don't have a full length mirror. ![]() ![]() 21st October 2009 Grandma's Chair Hannah loves Grandmas Chair. We now have a routine, we read books on grandmas chair before bed. Now she runs in and sits on grandmas chair as a way of telling me she is tried. FINALLY we can communicate! ![]() 17th October 2009 Oh My How Big Am I??? Today we went to Reilys first birthday. When I saw the photos of the birthday party.... well I knew I'd grown - but I am HUGE!!!! and I still have a month to go! Oh dear..... ![]() Busy Girl! Isn't she so grown up! She has my old mobile and always rings Daddy to talk about important business.... it worries me when she says my name.... what is she dobbing on me about? 11th October 2009 Sharing Friends Okay Okay I love Hannah.... but when she claims my oldest and dearest friend of MINE for herself..... I just have to say something!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ohhhhhhh isn't it wonderful! ![]() Marilyn Eat Your Heart Out! ![]() 24th September 2009 Yoghurt Facial Today Hannah wanted to learn how to eat by herself. I am sure by the end of it her face will be even smoother than a babies. ![]() 20th September 2009 At the Park with Mummys School Friends ![]() ![]() ![]() 15-20th September 2009 Days of my Life ![]() ![]() Peek a Boo! ![]() ![]() Where's Hannah? I put her in Alices' Pj's. Oh boy did she feel big. She ran around the house showing off. Then she started playing hide and seek ![]() 17th September 2009 Bathtime at Hugo's ![]() 5-15th September 2009 Melbourne!!! The notes to these are from emails to Chris. ![]() ![]() Hannah and I were out the back of the farm. You know the retaining wall? YOUR naughty daughter tried to climb it! (Hannah is always Chris's and not mine when she does such adventurous things) I wouldn't mind if she took me across and asked for help (saying please...) but no. She waddles off and starts to climb. She'd gone up a couple of stones when I found her! Dad and Helen think she is trying to escape Victoria! Hannah has just come back in soaked! She was
outside with mum and
apparently went running straight to the puddles! mmmm her mummys little girl. Oh on that one! Talk about her Daddys' little girl. Yesterday at mums she climbed up on the little stools over the arm of the couch onto the couch! Mum and i watched her determination to get up there. I was worried she'd lean back. but no. up to where she wanted to be then tried to climb up the back of the couch to the tomatos! Yes just like her Daddy. We have got down here and Hannah is amazing (like you
didn't know that).
She goes up and down the 4 stairs like she's been doing it all her life. I've blocked off the slate stairs so she can only go up and down the carpeted one. If I am anywhere near she wants to Kamakazie off the top, but if I'm not looking she goes up and down without a sound. Mum and Hannah have just gone to pick flowers. Hannah is so cute. She cant' work out the slope very well so just face plants then eats the dirt. I guess you're not surprised about that either :o) ![]() ![]() This is Hannahs first cake beater.... I guess I will have to learn how to share the bowl, and beaters with her now :o) She loved it! Hannah has also started to write letters to Daddy. She feels very proud of herself when she does "Big Girl" things. ![]() ![]() Family resemblance?
Hi Daddy Ijust wanted to tell you how much I love
you. I have been running around Gillys place making such a
mess. I keep trying to tell her, that everything I move to
the floor is one more bubble of love to her. I don't think
she believes me.
This morning I had a shower with mummy and she put me
in the sink while she stood behind me to dry her hair. Oh
Daddy it is funny that hot air blowing around. Guess what I
found while sitting there? Gillys Makeup! Mummy
doens't have anything like this stuff. It was great. So many
colours. I thought I'd be an artist..... Mummy got me back in
the shower so quickly when she saw what I was upto. I know
mummy only puts it on her face, but I thought it would look so nice all
over the mirror and sink.
I'm getting a little tired again so I'll winge until
Mummy takes me for a walk. I hope I can talk to you soon. I'm
sorry I get a little shy (or distracted with food) when you ring in the
mornings. I do talk to you all the time at night. Do you hear me?
I love you Daddy

28th August 2009 1st Birthday ![]() ![]() ![]() 27th August 2009 Dancing Queen Today I went to my very first disco party. I
got dressed up for the event.
I love dancing to music! It was great! We
danced with ribbons, capes, played instruments. It was fun. But I
didn't get to do my Dancing queen routine. Maybe next time.
![]() ![]() While Mummy was having a coffee I climbed these rock
steps to the castle. It was as high as mums head! But I was
too scared to go down the slippery dip. So I cried. Mummy
couldn't believe where I was! (She is now keeping a much
keener eye on me) It was really funny seeing this big hippo lady
climbing into the kids castle to save me. She helped me down the slide.
I felt like a big girl after that.
Before the disco started I hid around the corner and
had a kiss and cuddle with Frankie. Today I'm right into shocking
Mummy. Don't worry Dad I'm not getting married - just at the
library ;oP
My Birthday Party21st August 2009 ![]() ![]() Ahh the first birthday cake.... I was so worried about it. But good old Woolies provided the cake and I iced it. The wind blew the letters a little but you get the drift. As soon as we had sung Hannah grabed a mouse and ate it! No wonder she was sick that night - sugar!! ![]() It took Hannah 0.05 of a second to get filthy! Her trademark. But she had a ball with all her friends. 8th August 2009 Grafton ![]() It seems Hannah is quite taken by the Country
Boys! Watch out Kath! Look at that face.
Thanks again Kath & Marco for having us. We
had a wonderful time. We also worked out after having the
heater on in the room that Hannah likes the light. She now
has a night light and sleeps through every night!!! Phew I
thought it would never happen. She is still up around 5am
(another trait for the country lover) but I can handle that if I get to
sleep till then.
15th July 2009 Sydney Time ![]() Great Grandad Bill!!! 15th July 2009 First Steps ![]() 27th June 2009 Oh What a night... day .... Over the last 24 hours we have had SO many firsts. Last night at Dads house for dinner, Hannah decided to walk across the port-a-cot! Her first real steps. Since then she has tried a few times. The look of determination on her face is wonderful. At the moment she tends to take one step then crouches down so as not to fall. Tonight she tried 3 steps but couldn't move far with toys in the way. But she lifted her feet without holding onto anything. Chris and I are proud as punch of our little girl. Then this afternoon she started clapping. It was so much fun, we cheered and clapped to everything. I am hoping soon she'll be able to clap along to the music or clap my performace rather than just laugh at my singing and dancing. To top the day off - number 7 toothy peg has just cracked the surface. I can see number 8 isn't far behind. It won't be long before dribble guts will be high and dry flashing her pearly whites. Our little girl is growing up. 10th - 24th June 2009 Melbourne Moments Ahh time with my Mum. It's wonderful spending time with Mum. You can be tired and lazy, and thats okay because she will pick up the pieces. That's her job. She looks after me, I look after Hannah, because Hannah is part of me and Mum looks after me..... then she looks after both of us! That's logical isn't it? ![]() ![]() We had a great time with Mum. Singing and dancing in our usual way (kitchen utensils or hair brushes and muscle straining moves) Hannah would laugh non-stop while banging in time to the music, which only encouraged us to pull out the big moves. Hannah has rythem! That is great! Soon we'll have a chorus line (Mum, Tina, Me, Zoe, Hannah) What line up!!!! Hannah started copying our sounds and even started standing straight up off the potty. All big leaps forward, some I'm not sure I like :o) She has the same love for tasty tomatos jus like her dad. She found some cherry tomatos - she'd bite into them, they'd squirt up her face, she'd realise they aren't sweet. Screw up her face and chomp on some more. She ate the lot! Oh and the baths in the kitchen sink - how to be part of the party and get clean at the same time! We spent most of out time down at the farm. I think Mum perfered it there. They slept up one end, while we slept up the other.... At least Mum got a full nights sleep. Down at the farm we had play time with Buster brown. Hannah had a ball with Buster..... but Buster didn't like being second fiddle to Hannah. He'd squeeze between Hannah and Mum. It was so strange! But leave them on their own and they had fun. Hannah would climb all over him, sloppy kiss his wobbly jowls. He loved cleaning up the food around her highchair, and she loved taking the toast back off buster and eating it - Basil didn't like that at all. Buster and Hannah became mates very quickly. The first night Hannah woke screaming. I couldn't do anything to stop it. Buster started barking, running up and down outside and going nuts. Nothing could stop either of them.... until Mum had the bright spark of taking Hannah outside. I'm not sure if it was the blast of freezing cold air or Buster being around but something shut them both up (I'm guessing it was Mum's cuddles, they work for me). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() All in all we didn't really do much. But the time away with mum helping out alot with Hannah gave me the break I needed. I know Mum needed a break by the time we left. Thanks Mumma, I really needed it. ![]() ![]() 12-15th June 2009 Tassie Times ![]() ![]() 31st May 2009 Dad's got some big shoes to fill Yay!!! Daddy is home!!!!!!!!! He sure has big shoes to fill. ![]() 6th May 2009 I'm only a wee bit bigger now :o) ![]() ![]() Just over 8 months....... 10 days old..... 1st May 2009 Introducing..... Today Hannah and I met the newest member of our family. Oh how I would have done anything to have Chris with me.... And I know he would have walked on glass to be here. Hannah thought it was an absolute laugh to see this little thing flapping and rolling around. This little bubble sure has some energy (or was it the chocolate I just ate???) What do you think? I know I'm biased but I am gushing with pride and can see this one looks just like me! .... beautiful :o) Oh My it is now real! HELP!!! ![]() 24th April 2009 Seeing Double ![]() Oh what a wonderful day we had in the park with Anna and her baby Emma. Emma is 11 weeks older than Hannah but they are nearly twins. When they talk or cry Anna and I can't tell them apart! I just love seeing Emma and finding out what Hannah will do next. Aren't they beautiful. They played well together, and Anna as always was the tonic I needed. 23rd April 2009 Our Amazing Baby Oh how I should brag to all the other mothers on how amazing my baby is! If I didn't hear it from my trusted little nephew, I too would never have belived it! This morning I was woken to the little mouse, up and about at the ungodly hour of 5am. This morning she was so noisey that the kids (Zoe 8 & Mattie 6) came running out to my single camp bed and we had a cuddle. 4 in the bed and the little mouse said ...... "Indiana Jones"! I know I couldn't believe it either. I had just finished saying to Mattie and Zoe that they should teach Hannah how to clap, wave and say Mama and Dada. Mattie said "that should be easy, she can already say Indiana Jones!". Yep - it's official. I have an amazing baby. I just can't work out why she wont say all those big words to me. ![]() ![]() ![]() 15-18th April 2009 Family Farm Time Yesterday Hannah and I flew home from WA and last night Zoe arrived from Melbourne. We were SO tired! But up we get early had breaky with Dad and Helen at Toowong and off we went for the big drive south to Grafton. I had work to do at the Travel Agency in Coffs, so we decided to stay in Grafton with Craig, Jo & the girls.... family! Yippeee. I was very lucky to have Zoe on the drive down (and back) as she bounced from the front to the back every time Hannah needed anything. It was wonderful knowing I didn't have to stop for all the little hicups. We arrived in Grafton just in time to see Kath and Marco before she left to go back to Canberra. As always Kath had big smiles to greet us. When Kath left to go to the airport I lay down for just a min. Thankfully Zoe was there to look after Hannah.... I was so tired I fell sound asleep. Marco came home and we had a sing-a-long with the guitar. Hannah loved it, It reminded me of when I was little and it was Mum on the strings. Zoe flipped between looking at us like we were from another planet, and enjoying it. After that we headed over to Craigs new place. What a beautiful little house. Alice couldn't wait to smother her cousins with love, while Madeline (12) and Zoe (8) did the teenage stand off. Both couldn't wait to play, but neither wanted to be the one to start. Was I like that??? I'm a girl... of corse I was. Alice as usual loved washing Hannah and sending the love. ![]() ![]() The next day Jo looked after Hannah and has Zoe and Maddie to entertain each other. I'm not sure what went on that day, but I got back from Coffs and Madeline and Zoe where squeeling with delight, COVERED in mud. Hannah was smiling from ear to ear. She didn't really care that I had come home (part of me was glad, the other was dealing with rejection issues)..... the issues really came to the front when Jo went to pick up Alice. Hannah cried! and crawled after Jo! Yep I have rejection issues now. ![]() ![]() One of the days all the girls came to Coffs. Zoe and Madeline were very grown up, going shopping and looking after Hannah. That night Axel and Cathy came over for dinner. It is always nice seeing old friends again. Hannah was fascinated with Axels beard. She couldn't stop playing with it. ![]() Oh we had a lovely time with our family. It was a shame Zoe and I were a little tired and edgy to get on with the next stage of the time..... I don't know why - it is wonderful being down there. Thankyou! xxx ![]() 10th April 2009 Good Friday ...... Great Friday! Oh what a day.... I guess I should set the scene. My rashes have come back in force. Enough said. This happened... oh ..... December last year. Lasted to the day of 28th August 2008..... About a month ago my rashes came back. I was blaming the change of season, but deep down I kinda thought it just might be something else. Chris thought so too - I mean those rashes! Well I wouldn't find out until I was with Chris. On good friday I decided to find out. Chris was playing with Hannah and I showed him the stick. "What does it mean?" Hannah was squeeling and flapping around so I said "Hannah seems to be happy to have a brother or sister". I think I have only seen Chris' face Beam like this twice before. When we found out about Hannah and the moment Hannah was born. I said we should keep it to ourselves until after the 'danger period'..... Like last time, I think Chris could keep it to himself, oh - until the first person he spoke to! What a proud Daddy. Even though I have had my suspicions for awhile now, I'm still in a little shoc 9 - 14th April 2009 Easter with Dad What a time we had. Our flight over to WA we were upgraded to business class.... this flight doesn't feed or treat you any different so it was really the chair. Oh how nice it is to have a big chair with a baby. When we arrived Daddy was there to meet us. He saw Hannah crawl for the first time. Both his and her smiles nearly broke their faces. I wont mention what mine must have looked like. This trip we were back on the boat. Lucky Chris is inventive. Hannah ended up sleeping in a sort of hammock. If nothing else it kept her in! ![]() Hannah had a wonderful time looking at the big fish that call under our boat home. And the watermelon - Oh how wonderful and juicy. Between bites she was off chasing seagulls. We'd then go for a swim. Swimming in this water is very salty. I think our little mouse likes salt. She would lick and suck her skin to get the salt off. ![]() ![]() Sunday came around and our own little bunny delivered our egg. Ohhh if our little easter bunny could just sink her teeth into it..... ![]() On our last day together we went out to a waterhole. Hannah loved swimming in the fresh water. I thought it was wonderful to be away from Karratha/ Dampier and somewhere new with my family. ![]() As always there is a time to say 'see you soon'. They are the worst moments..... but then again by saying 'see you soon' it means a time to look forward too, and we do. 3rd April 2009 What have I done??? Oh dear.... So we now have a tootie toilet trained mouse. There is only one catch. She wont go to the tottie in the nappy anymore. Sound good huh???? NO! At 4am this morning my little bundle of joy woke up. Grizzle grizzle grumble bum. I tried water, milk, cuddles even barnie didn't work. 2 1/2 hrs later I give up on the fact that sleep was what I wanted. Put her on the potty and hoot dee toot she was happy again. Ready for some sleep. Can someone please remind me, that if my mouse isn't happy try the potty first! If I'd done that at 4 am I would have got 3 hrs more sleep! Oh feel sorry for me time. 1st April 2009 Here comes Hannah Cotton Tail Hopping down the bunny trail, Hippity Hoppity Easters on its way ![]() 26th March 2009 Last Night.. Tonight! Last night was the last time the mouse will swing herself to sleep at home. Oh dear.... I know I really pushed her to the limit of how long she could stay there. I know she likes the hammock, so I was worried about putting her in a 'big girl' bed. So tonight I put here in..... and she went to sleep without a peep! What is worse..... look how BIG she is in the big bed! ![]() ![]() 26th March 2009 My Mothers Mother is in town! Ahh how nice it is to have Mum around. We have had a great time walking along the Brisbane river to New Farm for breakfast. It is becoming a beautiful time of year. Just perfect. On the walk home, Hannah ended up on my shoulders. She loved it. Is a natural horse rider and tried kicking me on! Faster Mum! Faster! ![]() ![]() When we went shopping the little mouse looked like she'd go to sleep, so I left her unrestrained. Silly me.... I walked ahead, looked back to see the Mouse fearlessly riding her chariot! Looking around at the spectators... and loving it! It became a safer option to put her in a trolly. Last time I put her in a shopping trolly, I needed to buy 2 boxes of tissues to wedge her upright! Not anymore. She made a point of putting her hands on the bar I had mine. She was so sweet. ![]() ![]() Sitting, crawling and feeding myself Our little girl is now a master crawler. She followed Mum all around the house. She is a funny little mouse. Even though now she can go the distance, she still looks up and sees me in the kitchen and crawls directly to me. She gets so upset that the couch is in the way, and no matter how hard she crawls it doesn't move! It is great however, that she can now crawl to the toy box and get out what she wants. She is also now sitting really well.... so well she even feeds herself! ![]() ![]() 8th March 2009 King and Princess on their throne We all have a throne to call our own. ![]() 6th March 2009 Princess Alice and her little friend What a wonderful time we had at Craig and Jos place. I love family..... they just make life so much more enjoyable. Alice is hilarious. As a grown up (2 1/2), she could teach Hannah soooo much. And just smothered her with love. Hannah was quite overwhelmed at times when Alice wanted to giver her a cuddle .... and not let go. (Well I completely understand that - I do it too). They had a bath together, where alice helped wash hannah. Hannah was fascinated by Alices diamonds. It was great seeing them playing together.... as well as a 6month old could play. ![]() ![]() Princess Alice showing Hannah her diamonds. ![]() ![]() Bath time with Alice Plotting to take over the world! Alice likes to play act, and she wanted to be Hannah. She called me Mum (that was the weirdest feeling ever, hearing Mum....) she even called her Mum and Dad Autie Jo and Uncle Craig..... It is great to see her imagination go wild. It was great the next day to see Marco , Kath and Ian. We so rarely get to see them. But they look great and seem happy. Just what I like to see. 5th March 2009 Barnie..... bloody barnie! Oh my friend Barnie. Hannah Mouse lover her Barnie. Thanks to Zoe and Mattie who found this wonderful dinosaur. He sings "I love you, you love me. We're a happy family. With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you. Won't you say you love me too?" Now Barnies american twange can become tiresom, actually down right annoying. And the fact that I can still hear it playing around and around inside my head, long after barnie has stopped singing, drives me to distraction. It still hasn't stopped me bringing out the heavy artillery (the single purple dinsdaur) when nothing else will settle the little mouse. My problem is, she is teething again (groan...) so I'm coming across as a warmonger the way Barnie gets whipped out a zillion times a day. I am now going so far as putting it in the hammock with the mouse and she is falling asleep with him! I guess on the bright side. If I am singing his song to her ALL day, then maybe she is getting this subliminal message of how much I love her and just maybe her first word or sentence will be "love" or I love you...... both would melt my heart. But "Mum" will do just fine. ![]() 3rd March 2009 Lazy Afternoon on the Sun Lounge Just me and my Dad..... oh and Big Ted. Dad and I had wonderful time on the sun lounge this afternoon. I cuddled and chatted with Dad for nearly an hour! Then I spent some time with Big Ted, who is a wonderful friend. he keeps me sitting up! ![]() ![]() After that we lay around reading. I still haven't quite worked out how this book business works, but boy oh boy books taste good.... (I have found a few of mums books) . ![]() 1 March 2009 I Love Big Peoples Food ![]() ![]() This is how I look when I feed myself. mmmm if I could lick my cheeks.... Oh it is so nice to have dad home. But when he drops my food I can't help but gasp! 23rd February 2009 I'm a Big Girl Now!!! Today has been a day of doing big girl things! After having lunch with Mattea and Lauchlan, what a cute little guy, we went to the grocery store. For the first time Hannah mouse sat in the seat of the trolly. She held onto the wire for dear life. I had a box of tissues wedged so she wouldn't fall, but those knuckles wouldn't looseen up. They were white! But she loved being up at my height and laughing and carrying on. Sooty also ate her first big peoples food. Okay we may never touch that slop, but she loved it. I think the photos tell the story. She even wanted to feed herself! What a girl. We needed a shower after dinner and she didn't want a bar of the bottle.... after all she is a big girl now. ![]() ![]() 21st February 2009 Big Cousins Tonight Jo and Madeline came to stay the night. Oh it is wonderful having family around. Madeline is growing up into a beautiful young lady. Hannah was in awe of Maddy. She copied her noises and followed her around the room. Thankyou for coming and staying, it was fun! In the morning we went for brekky in the valley. This exhausted our little girl. ![]() ![]() 20th February 2009 Sooty has boyfriends and steals their food! Oh dear.... My little Sooty.... My baby girls is growing up.... I DON'T LIKE IT!!! Firstly my little girl gave up any attention of me for a boy. Tam and I were sitting on the couch with Hugo and Hannah laying on the mat on the floor. We were well into our gossip when we noticed how quite the kids were. Hmmm now what could be going on? Hugo was gooing and smiling ever so cutely completely forgetting the rusk he had been sucking on... ahum ... while my little girl ...uummm... had most of his foot in her mouth! When the rusk was dropped Hannah lept at the food! I have never seen her move so fast. Straight into her mouth and she was scraping the already soggy rusk with her teeth. (Photos to come) Later that night Tanya and Sinjon came over for coffee. The kids again on the floor..... gazing into each others eyes, holding hands! If only I was quicker with the camera. ![]() My First Woody Oh Daddy! You should have seen me practice my climbing! I nearly pulled myself upto sitting. Bring on KP daddy! ![]() 10th February 2009 WA! WA! Thats the sounds I make :o) Since we've been over here, Hannah has made many friends at the Penny Palms. She talks to anyone and everyone at meal times. And if she happens to loose a bunny or a wrap, we find it hooked on the door so she doesn't get upset. The workers come in (girls and boys) and find reasons to talk and play with Hannah. I have officially lost my identity. I am now known as "Hannahs Mum". Hannah now has 2 teeth. It was only days between the first and the second. Chris was able to witness the next peg apear. I was so excited. No when she chomps on my finger, it hurts. Chris wont let her gnaw on him.... he's smart. ![]() Crawling - For awhile now Hannah has been trying to crawl. Now she is actually getting somewhere. On occasion she gets co-ordinated enough to have the arms and legs going at the same time. Then seconds later she forgets that arms are necessary and moves around with her head! She's been doing laps of the bed, and her cot. I do find it strange that she is so mobile and still can't sit up without help. Crawling, sitting bouncing is all an exhausting job. ![]() Jolly Jumper! To keep me sane and get little jobs done, I have been putting Sooty in the Jolly Jumper. Usually in the doorway so she can talk to everyone, trees included, while she jumps. In the hight of the heat, I hook her upto the closet. Her Jumping is amazing. She has now realised that if she pushes she bounces. So she jumps, the lifts her legs to bounce! The squeels of joy makes you smile, then I have to watch... then nothing gets done.... again. ![]() I Miss Dad - My Plan! Today when Mum did the washing, and I was put in the bucket of clean clothes, I came up with a plan to have more time with my Dad. I figure, if I look like everyone on the site no-one will even notice i'm there. Do you think they'd notice? ![]() Mini Me ..... Need I say more? ![]() 3rd February 2009 Jet Setter Aching Bum I was going to say Jet Setter, Gym Junkie.... but if I lie to you, I'm only lieing to myself. How this whole story came about. Yesterday I was talking to Chris. Wow! Big deal I hear you say... you do that everyday. This time was different. This time we talked about Hannah and I coming over to WA as we all missed each other so much. I think this is how the conversation went: C - when can you get here? N- Tomorrow. C- Wahoo! Click N- are you there? That was when the phone cut out. So we booked the ticket on the assumption that Wahoo! meant "yes honey sounds great we'll see you tomorrow". So I rang WA and organised for a car seat to be put aside for Chris at Target. There are some things that make the time difference wonderful. Started packing the bags. To be at the plane by Noon on tuesday. All the while I had a time limit. I had to be at the gym by 8.30am on the tuesday morning to 'sart my new life'. Nothing was going to stop me. So the bags were packed and off we went to the gym to meet Tam and Hugo from the unit block (we are each others cheer squad). Hannah was more than happy to go into the creche for the 2 hrs...... She looked up at me then went back to her game..... I'm still not quite over her ability to just 'let me go'. Tam and I were going to do the "Spin" class. If you have never heard of it, Imagine Tour de Hell on a stationary bike. I can say WE DID IT!!! We got over the finish line and even walked to the car. I made it half way across Australia before my Butt started to feel it. Dad, my amazing taxi driver, took us to the airport. (It seems we only seem him for dinner at his house or the run to or from the airport). Thanks Dad! I like a cabbie who knows the way and gives you a kiss and cuddle at the end with a "love you" to send you off. Hannah was her true Jet Setter self on the plane. She slept, talked, played. Had her own seat, and let me watch "Australia" the movie till the end! before she decided she wanted to jump around and look at the world. What came next was the best ever of the day. With a tired but happy mouse, very sore legs and bum we exited the plane to the hot blanket of the Pilbera. And who was there to meet us.... Fuzzy Wuzzy Daddy! Poor Hannah got stuck in the middle of a gigantic cuddle! She couldn't stop touching Chris' rough face. And the smiles for Chris were beautiful. We're a family! Together! Yippee! Pip! Pip Squeek! Who Me? Sorry Mouse but we all know who Ollie is..... ![]() 1st February 2009 Toothy Pegs! Guess what arrived this morning? Hannahs first little peg. She has been a gizzle grump for a couple of days, especially at night. Sure enough their is a reason for everything! Poor little mouse she must have been in pain. It is hard to take a picture of her little pegs, as she isn't quite sure how to keep her mouth open. I think I'll need more than me for that operation. 29th January 2009 Giggles Galore This morning I did my ususal fun and games ... the lead up to the most traumatic time.. Gettiing changed. So I was pulling faces and making funny sounds. But this time Hannah didn't just have her mouth open wide making a gahhh hhiihh sound, she actually laughed. Still a slightly strange noise but I'm getting the drift that she thinks I'm a wacko and is laughing at me! So I did it some more. Every time I tried to record it though, she was so interested in the camera that she wasn't looking at me being a moron. 28th January 2009 Look How Much I've Grown ![]() ![]() 9 days old. 154 days old (5 Months) I'm sure Hadi is shrinking! How can a little baby grow this fast? Sooty does a tooty on the pooty Ahh our little pricess. On the 25th I decided that I wanted her on the potty... I know she can't sit up properly or crawl yet but isn't that the best time to start.... when they can't get away? So I put Sooty on the potty with my knee behind her head so she doesn't roll off and we start to read books. Before to long her face goes red, she grunts.... and well..... I don't have to change a poopy nappy! I know what you are thinking - once is nothing. Well it has now been 6 days and she pretty much does something everytime I put her on it. And I've only had one poopy nappy . I'm pretty keen to get this down pat before she starts solids. I am so proud of her. We have had a couple of disasters where she has tried to reach for something and fallen off. Luckily nothing was in the potty. First she went for a toy she'd dropped, and this morning she plowed right into my cereal bowl. Lucky both pots were empty. I think she is learning it's a long way to fall. How do you feel about dirty nappies? ![]() 28th January 2009 Play time! Today we went to Papa Des and Nana Jans place for lunch. To start with the drive was held up by the roller door not opening. Then 2/3 of the way there Hannah had a real tanty. I stopped and got her out, cuddled NOTHING happened. She kept screaming her little lungs out. So I decided if I can't do anything I may as well keep driving. Then I remembered Barney - bloody thing is sitting on the couch. whats his song? Thats right! I love you la la la . It took 5 min of singing that bloody song over and over to get her the hyper breathing stage. I sang that song for 20 min! I will NEVER leave barney at home again. We arrived at Desies and had a ball. Hannah was in this walker thing that she loved pushing herself backward and trying to eat everything on it. Problem is they are stuck. Then she had her first go at a high chair. She loved being the same height as us. Then a swim! Cripes I kept telling her she can't get used to this much activity in one day :o) I'll try and get some pics from Desie. They were so cute. 21st January 2009 Rubber Neck Our little mouse is now rolling both ways back and forth all over the floor. When she isn't rolling she's pushing herself backward around the floor. She is now more alert and wanting to look around. Miss rubber neck keeps twisting it around to take in everything. On her observations she finds things to grab for and actually goes for it. No more earings, necklaces and hair should be tied back. She has become a danger. And EVERYTHING goes in her mouth! Mum lost her necklace.... ![]() Time with My Mum in Melbourne We had a wonderful time with mum. I just loved being in the same room, knowing she was around. Though we didn't end up doing all that much, I still loved it. Hannah had a ball. Mum loves to think 'outside the square' which seemed to be exactly what Hannah wanted. Talk about a room with a view :o) Could it get any better?
![]() Helping Gilly cook is always fun ![]() Hannah enjoyed sitting in the washing basket. She could play at the same level as we were all the while sitting! Oh and sitting in the sink trying to catch the water splashing! It was great.
![]() Hannah met a new friend in the Mirror. They talked to each other for ages, having a little argument over who should crawl closer. Hannah can't crawl yet. She also decided she wanted to go for a motorbike ride with Basil.... she wasn't sure how to wear the helmet, it ended up a great seat.
![]() Mum has been so excited about Hannah putting her feet on the bar of the pram. On the last day she mastered the art. Mum was so excited. ![]() 15th January 2009 Rock'n Roll'n Movin' and Shakin' Oh the Mouse is SOOO amazing. On Rissy's birthday (27th December) Hannah rolled for the first time.... well at least the first time we watched it! I was soo proud of her. Since then she has been absolutly smothered with love from her big cousins and hasn't had much 'Tummy Time'. How can you when you are always in one of thier arms. Well since the kids have gone she has loved being on her tummy to the point of often rolling onto her tummy herself! Today not only is she rolling over really easily, but she is also trying to crawl! My Golly Gosh! I put her down on Mums carpet with a mat under her for nappy free time. Next thing she has rolled off the mat (well that is Murphy for you) and is now moving her arms and legs in crawl fashion. The only hicup is her pivot point of a tummy getting in the way. But she is still managing to get a little way forward. I'm so PROUD of her! She is getting up on her knees and her elbows.... just not at the same time. Amazing. 14th January 2009 No Goodbyes - "See you soon!" This morning the Brock family had a very early start to head back to Sydney. They were leaving at 4.30am..... It was hard for the kiddos to get to sleep knowing they were leaving. At 2am I felt this little person hop into bed beside me. Magic cuddled up and said "I have to be up very early very soon. I don't want to miss out on my cuddle" I looked at the clock and told him it was 2, and that it was 2hrs before he had to get up. We cuddled for 10 min and he got up and went back to bed (I said nothing). Then at 4, another little person comes in. Wraps her arms around me and wakes me up with the cuddle and a tear falling on my cheek. I held her tight and asked her what the matter was. " I'm going to miss you, I don't want to go. You'll be lonely. I HATE Goodbyes". She was sobbing, the poor little tiger. I reminded her that we don't have goodbyes only see you soons. I promised her we would see each other soon, and that I will never be lonely with Hannah around (Zoe has been very concerned that I am lonely with Chris away so much). Then Mattie started crying. "I don't want to leave!" I asked him why..... "I haven't had enough turns with Hannah!" So much for it being all about me :o) The build up to them leaving has been hard. They have squeezed themselves into bags to see if they would fit so I could take them with me. They have devised plans to go back to Sydney with Mum and Dad to do a couple of very important things (ie. Pick up duckie or open an pressie that was left behind). Then Gilly will be there to bring them back again. Or just hop on a plane and come back. Noodle and Magic - thankyou for a wonderful time at the farm. It has been amazing having two little helpers for Hannah. I have loved all the cuddles for me (you know I can NEVER get enough) and the Mouse is now expecting more cuddles and fun, from what you both gave. We're looking forward to playing soon...... and don't forget "Cuddle in the hole!!!!" The Family Farm It has been wonderful being down at the Family Farm with the kids. I don't know where to start with the fun. The kids ALWAYS wanted to be around Hannah. ... Buster the big brown dog has to be included as one of the kids :o) Cuddle time in the mornings didn't mean they wanted to cuddle me! I have rejection issues... Love is all around. Mattie sure loves Hannah... I don't know if Hannah realises how much ![]() Jumping on the trampoline! Big Kids and Little Kids! ![]() We had popcorn picnics! Matt used his water bottle to keep ant counts down, we played tennis. All the while Buster was keeping an eye on Hannah. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hannah loved having baths with the kids. Zoe was very good with Hannah, and Buster always had to make sure everything was fine. ![]() When Gilly went away for for work, she came home to a "Welcome" surprise from the whole family. The sign was huge! Chris may not have been there, but they didn't forget him. ![]() ![]() We went Phillip Island for fish & chips on the beach. We saw a hotrod show. ![]() ![]() We had concerts on the big table YMCA! (He he he it is a really bad photo isn't it!) So much LOVE in our family. ![]() ![]() ![]() 12th January 2009 Happy Early Birthday Teenie Beanie! This morning was a very exciting morning indeed. The Kids and I had worked out that if we didn't have Tinas 'early' birthday then Hannah, Gilly and I would miss out on her birthday! that couldn't happen, so we planed the bestest every breakfast birthday party! Yesterday Gilly secretly made a cake while we were at the circus. Then last night the kids and I blew up ALL the balloons adn hid them in the walk in so "Mummy wouldn't guess!". Firstly, note to self - NEVER a) say you'll blow up ALL the balloons. You end up doing most and and nearly blow up yourself b) if you thought blowing up all the balloons would tired the kids out - it doesn't! as you end up doing most of the blowing and they are squeeling with joy as there as SO MANY Balloons! Teens didn't hear a thing! (yes I sometimes wonder about her hearing). So this morning while Teens was in the shower, out came ALL the balloons, lollies, chippies, cheerios and the birthday cake. We all hid and when Teens came into the living room we all jumped out and she got such a surprise! So we had the naughtiest breakfast ever! ![]() ![]() 11th January 2009 Stardust Circus! Boy oh boy how we have counted down the sleeps, days hours and even minutes till circus time. Mattie would come into bed with Hannah and I in the mornings and we'd talk for ages about what the circus 'could' be like. It was so exciting! The time finally came to go to the circus. Mattie squirmed and wormed the whole way, Zoe was excited in a 'mature' way (but the giggles burst out when she couldn't help it) and Hannah had absolutly no idea but flapped along with the kids. We go there and Mattie tried the clowns at side show alley and both the kids had fun on the jumping castle slide..... then we lined up for the show. Mattie was busting,I got into the 'vibe'. With ringside seats ![]() Mid December 2008 Christmas at Grandads Oh it has been so fun at Grandads and Helens. Firstly Zoe, Mattie, Teens, Hannah and I got to decorate their house. I'm not sure who is going to admit it, but someone keeps buying the coolest Christmas stuff that sings and lights up and keeps one little girl very entertained. While the big and bigger kids decorated not 1 but 2 christmas trees! It was loads of fun. The kids didn't feel that decorating the house was enough - they had to do Hannah too! ![]() The Hoare Christmas dinner was great. We started early as there is now 8 kids and another on the way (no not me, Anne is due in Feb). Kids make Christma, when they remembered whos who in the zoo they felt comfortable enough to run around squeeling with delight. As usual Dad and Helen made the Christmas party easy and fun, where we ate enough to burst! And some drank enough to feel it the next day :o) ![]() The morning after Hannah and I went over to Dads to meet up with Teens and the family. Dad and Helen took the kids upto Mt Coot-tha for a look and to see if they could see Dads house. When they got there Helen rang and Tina and I went to the end of the street and danced around like lunatics for the kids to see us..... we stayed just long enough for the street to know Dads kids were nuts, but left in time before the nut house came to pick us up! Helen is amazing with the kids. She sure nurtures the kids imagination. ![]() Christmas at Desies It's always fun at Papa Des and Nana Jans place. The big people get to relax with some bubbles and the little people go crazy in the swimming pool and around the property. As usual Desie was the BBQ hero and whipped up a feast for brekfast, and we all over ate. Hannah seemed quite content to be cuddled by Jan and Des. A welcome relief for my arms. With all this rain the dam is looking amazing! it has been empty for so long. ![]() ![]() Barney - My Hero! While the kids where with me we had a pretty hard time with Hannah. Poor little Sooty wouldn't calm down, was so upset that she couldn't even get her breath. I was getting upset, Tina was hurting for her too; when the kids (after a big chat with each other) asked if Hannah could open her Christmas pressie. I said it wasn't Christmas yet and she can't really open the present anyway. But the kids persisted and promised it would make her happy. The kids sit down, I put Hannah on Zoe's lap.... so far the crying has stopped and she is transfixed on what will happen with thing in Matties hand.... the face screws up.... the mouth opens for a scream.... Mattie gets Barnie out of the wrapper and BOOM! "I love you, you love me la lalla Barnie goes on, while Hannah stares at this purple thing in awe. The song stops. The face screws up.... "I love you....." and on it goes. It would have to be the best pressie in the world! ![]() I am writing this in January from Melbounre, and I can say I am glad I didn't leave him behind. Barnie is the ONLY thing that seems to settle our girl. Me ... Nudda chance. When Hannah starts her uncontrolable cry the kids go running in search of Barnie.... and it works. My goodness, I think her first song she'll ever sing will be about how her family loves her and she loves them..... I'm pretty happy with that. I just hope she knows it too. xxxx 18th December 2008 Happy Birthday Noogie Noodle Box! Happy Do Do Do Do! Zoe is 8 today!!! Where did the years go? What a birthday it was! Last night Zoe slept in My bed with Mattie and I and Hannah in her Hammock beside us. It was the Kids room! Mummy (Tina) was the big person looking after us. We woke up to some serious cuddles. We had a great time opening pressies and making cakes and dressing up for the big day. ![]() ![]() Then off to Rissys place for a Pool Party! It was great playing with our cousins. Even Hannah got into the pool to join in. It seems the big kids loved the party food more than the little ones.... you can't beat a cheerio. ![]() We then went to Grandad and Helens for dinner and the traditional Shingle Inn cake. The kids were pretty exhausted. ![]() ![]() 17th December 2008 My Friends at My Place! This morning we were very excitied! We went to pick up Hannahs big cousins and her Teenie Beenie. What smile and gurgles!!! and I got the biggest cuddles in the WORLD!!! When we got home we had big swims in the pool. Mattie even swam without his Wahoo! The pool is great as it is quite shallow and gives kids great confidence. Then Anna & Mat arrived with Lily and Emma. The kids had a great time swimming. We made special Hannah Mouse cupcakes for the kids, who gobbled them all up! It was great! I had all my special little people around me. I love that! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 15th December 2008 Grandmas Ashes Today we went to St Davids church and placed Grandmas ashes next to Grandads. I thought Dad and his brothers picked a wonderful day to reuinite them, for it would have been their 72nd wedding anniversary. It was wonderful talking about Grandma and Grandad and learning more stories from the boys. Hannah got all dressed up for the occasion, shoes and all!
![]() Then we went over to Grandad and Helens for dinner. ![]() 10th December 2008 Four Generations There is nothing nicer than being with your family. The older I get the more I see myself in my mum and my mums mum. I wonder if Hannah will end up looking like us. ![]() 9th December 2008 Happy Do Do Mummys Mum Ahh what a week I've had. My Mum came up to Brisbane for her birthday. I love having my Mum around. The poor Gal gets pulled from all that love her to have 'alone' time. We celebrated her birthday at the Cru Bar on James St. It was wonderful. Then Mum came home for some bonding time with little Hannah Mouse. I'm not sure about these Birthdays, but they seem to exhaust out little (and big) girls. ![]() While Mum was here, we tried a new bath for her. She seems to be getting used to the 'sink'. ![]() 4th December 2008 Look at them Now!!!! Look at Sooty and Emma! My goodness they are nearly the same size! It was wonderful, as always, seeing Anna and having time together. Anna is my tonic on the hard days... and that is on the phone! So in person she is top shelf stuff. Hannah is very quickly catching up to Emma. They were amazing together. They are now looking at each other and even having a chat. Unlike their Mums, the talks are pretty short at the moment. When it was time for a bath, and I didn't know where I could put Hannah out of harms way.... I found the perfect place. ![]() ![]() As always Anna - Thankyou! LYLAS 2nd December 2008 Who escaped San Diego Zoo? and ended up at our house?? I am sooooo excited! Clancy Pants is home!!! Hannah and I met up with Clancy for breaky in the Valley when she arrived in Bris. It was strange. I was looking straight at her and didn't recognise her. She is all grown up! Our little fairy doesn't have spikey hair, and she doesn't look 12! Oh Dear! Shes grown up. That means I must be OLD! Clancy is glowing. This new mature Clancy is beautiful. And what a lagh. She was quite timid holding Sooty, and yet she can hold an endangered species and feel at home. Sunday all the girls went to Miles (Clancys brother) place for lunch. It was wonderful seeing Mr & Mrs Hall and the girls. After and hour of laughing it feels like Clancy never left. ![]() ![]() Clancy Pants ended up at our house for a few nights - yiipppeeee!!! Hannah had another mother. Little Sooty loves Clancy. She talks to her in little bird calls and Sooty grins and replys. I think she understands bird talk better than me. It's great having Clancy around. Another set of hands to play with the ever growing little lady has been a great relief. Thanks Miss Pants. 28th November 2008 I've Done It! Finally! For weeks now I have been bringing out the clippers to cut Hannahs nails. Oh those long tallons have left numerous marks on herself and me. Every time I get them close she squirms/ crys or I have these horror visions of chomping into her delicate little fleshy fingers. Needless to say the panic and trauma (for me) of it all, means I don't end up doing anything. Well today, after waking up at 5.30! Having an early morning chat with her Auntie Teenie, a squirm and a gurgle to Daddy. I fed her up and put her under her new play thingo and went to work. Yes she squirmed but I persisted (God I'm good!) and whammo! Her sharp nails are gone! Phew - lets hope they don't grow to quickly. That took alot out of me - I think I need a rest. ![]() There is a mirror on her little play mat. It has been most enjoyable listening to her talking to her new friend! ![]() Dinner at dads was great. Nothing nicer than fresh veges... don't you think? Hannah has now decided that she wants to hold her own bottle! Doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, its fantastic! 27th November 2008 It's Official Today I received a very important certificate! Yes! Hannahs Birth Certificate! When I opened it, I felt so proud. To see Chris', Hannahs and My names there on such an important document it made me well up with pride. It's like she has just graduated uni! At the rate she is growing she will in a couple of weeks. It is now 'real'. She is ours .... did you know we made her?! 25th November 2008 Home James - 1st Class Treatment Oh It was awful leaving Chris. We got up early and finished packing. Arrived at the airport a little early so we could fit in with Hannahs feeds etc.... andin true good ol' Qantas form, we had a delay of over an hour! Well Hannah wasn't impressed with that idea, so she cried. In one way it was good, as it meant I was quite distracted and distressed with her so I didn't get to cry leaving. We said our goodbyes to Daddy, got on the plane where Hannah drank up big and slept. Our little miss got 2 seats to herself and she slept for nearly the whole way! When she fell asleep, it gave me time to think about the fact that we aren't with Chris anymore. That is when my heart flopped. I didn't even get to say goodbye properly. All in all the flight was quite bumpy all to Hannahs approval and she was perfect!
![]() 24th November 2008 Dads Birthday Yippee Dads Birthday! That means pressies and birthday cake. All the fun stuff. It was great. Hannah gave Chris some of his favorite white chocolate.... didn't take long for him to sample the sweets. Hannah thought it was quite the laugh that Dad would eat it for breakfast!
![]() All in all we had a wonderful day. That exhausted the birthday boy and his babe. ![]() 11-25th November 2008 Our Time In WA Hannah and I had a wonderful time in WA. Just knowing that I'd see Chris every night made the hot days enjoyable. We went out for dinner like a normal family and Hannah and I had cuddle times with Chris. Ahh the small joys. It was fantastic to find Hannah loving the boat. That is a relief to know we can go back over and be happy. We went and saw friends who've had little babies and played in the park. It was all a great holiday. Chris - when will we be back? We're waiting :o) 18th November 2008 Baby group and Ginger Beers Today we have had an interesting time. We went to a mothers group. What a great set up they have here. Somuch information and the girls were lovely. Knowing I'll be back and forth they got my email and said they'd keep me in the loop of what is going on. It was great. Tonight Chris and I met up with the engineers (ginger beers) that I used to work with when I was at my waddle stage of pregnancy. Johnathan as always had the biggest smile and was very excited to meet Hannah. I am sure if she wasn't asleep, she would have recognised his voice. And Paras, ahh the little guy who even being as nice as ever has this cheeky face that seems to be playing jokes with you. It was a great night. Lots of chatting, laughing and I had a few drinks. Oh dear, when Hannah woke up at 3am..... I had a hangover! Lucky I get to go back to sleep as it seemed to have gone by morning. Not doing that again in a hurry. ![]() Over the last few days Chris has had lots of chats with Hannah. It took a couple of days, but he finally got to hear her 'talk'. It is very cute and the big smiles. Ahh they are wonderful. ![]() We have been going to the Palms park to play under the trees, but it has been a bit windy so Hannah preffers the pram. 14th November 2008 Pilbera Princess Friday night was a BBQ for CBI, the company Chris and I worked for. I don't think many people recognised me not in my Steve Irwin look alike outfit, but they did know Hannah. I think Chris must have show everyone her photos. It was amazing to see how many people I knew and remembered me. Even the big big boss came and had a chat with her. What a princess. Drew (the super intendent) thought Hannah took after me.... she smiles with a pleasant nature.... ahh Chris what are you like when we're away? All in all the guys were very happy to see the final product of my big fat belly. 12th November 2008 Diandi Ahh the worries and wonders of what it will be like with a baby on the boat and in the North West of WA. My biggest worry was getting on and off the boat. Why did I waste wrinkles eve thinking of it? Chris built a ramp! What a guy. It sure made it easy getting her in and out, along with the kitchen sink you need to take for a baby.
![]() Then there was the heat. We had very strong westerly winds off the Indian Ocean that kept the place pretty cool. We were also in the middle of the Spring Tides, in the mornings the boat was nearly sitting on the bottom, and was in the shade of the groin. Again keeping the temps down. I had planned to go to the library every other day to live in the aircon.... didn't need to do it! 11th November 2008 Rememberance Day Oh what a day to remember. Today I got to
have a great big cuddle from my Chris, Hannahs Dad. Yes Yes
he was at the gate to meet us (Just like my bear Bruno) and yes, I
cried and I cried and I cried. Happy tears.
Last night I was so excited I couldn't sleep. I had to make sure everything was packed and ready to go. We had a busy morning going over to Grandmas place to meet up with Dad and Rob & Joan. Then back home for a quick bottle and off to the airport. In all of this with the bottle propped at 11am I had my minute silence. I didn't just think about the soldiers but their wives and how strong they were (are), and what they would think of today. I said my hellos to Grandad and Grandma, Poppy, Grandma Jean, Gran all my old family that I love so much. After that the wheels were turning and the time was ticking to get to the airport. Dad took us to the door and even waited at the plane till it was time to board. Thanks Dad! It made it SOOO much easier to get through security with the extra hands, not to mention taking the bags, prams and baby in the LONG Qantas line. ![]() Hannahs first plane ride was pretty good. She cried a bit for the begining. I could see all the faces around me groaning "is this going to be the whole flight". I was one of those faces ... oh... about 11 weeks ago. But no. I gave her a bottle for take off then she pretty much slept on and off for nearly the whole flight. An absolute treasure. It did make it hard for me as I had to hold her the whole way (5 1/2 hrs) and had a very sore shoulder and neck by the time we landed. Oh - the landing. for some reason landing in Karratha is a bumping affair, this time was particularly bad. I was holding onto Hannah and my stomach for dear life, while she was gurgling and laughing! Gee it must be nice to look into someones eyes and believe with every grain of your body that this person WILL look after you. As I said Chris was at the gate to meet us.
What a lovely sight to see, this slightly fuzzy head bobbing
up and down trying to keep eye contact, and the cuddle oh the cuddle.
Poor Hannah was a little overwhelmed and cried.
Chris thinks it was because she didn't recognise him.
I think it was beacuse of the noise and all the very bright
safety shirts everywhere and just being tired and squashed in our hugs.
I couldn't believe how familiar this place is to me.
We went out for a romantic dinner to the nicest place in
town. Hannah, Chris and I. Not offen is 3 not a
crowd.
![]() ![]() When we got back to the boat it was like "I'm Home". I'm not sure what it is about little 'Diandi' but it does feel like home. Or is home where the heart is? Hannah slept in her Hammock, swinging in the breeze. What an amazing girl. She must remember being in my tummy on the boat and it was just 'right' as she slept until about 15 min before Chris had to get ready to go to work. I also slept like a dream. There is nothing nicer than being in the arms of someone you love. 8th November 2008 I will survive Today we had a wonderful day with Colly. We went to an art show .... and I'm not bias but I can tell you NONE of them were as good as 'our' Collys. After being introduced to everyone by a very proud grandmother (yes I wore lipstick) we went for coffee. Colly and Hannah were matching in pink and looked quite the picture. ![]() That night I joined the 'mothers survivors' club. I came down with a bug. Oh dear did it bug. I was up and down all night. Poor Hannah had no idea what hit her, when I'd usually talk, play ... cripes open the curtains. I just couldn't do anything. Hannah was probably being normal but I was fragile and couldn't handle the noise, she became sensitive and wanted her mum. I hit the club when I was holding the dummy in her mouth with one hand and holding the bucket with the other. I was on Hell road and couldn't wait to get off. Sure enough 24hours later it was over. I had made it. I now know that anything thrown my way I can deal with.... but boy I wanted my mum! 6th November 2008 Porky Piddles and Playtime Hannah Mouse Hannah Mouse la la la la What a wonderful morning. Hannah woke up Happy, and listened to her cousins singing "Hannah Mouse" smiling at the mobile phone. I do believe Hannah thinks her loved ones live in my mobile phone. It will please Monkey Magic to know that Hannah is now responding to the Peek-a-boo game. Mornings are wonderful, Sooty is alert and likes to play games. One of those games I think is playing with Mummys mind! Today when I changed Hannahs nappy I left it off for just a minute! When I turned around my little princess had turned into a little boy! Yes - I don't know how she did it, but her widdle wees were going up in an arc and landing in the open draw to be soaked up by all her socks and bibs! I couldn't believe what I was seeing! She was most impressed watching her own display. We then walked to New Farm with our friends Tanya and Sinjon to be weighed (Hannah that is :o) My little PorkyPine is now a whopping 5.2kg! We then went for coffee in New Farm Park. The Jacarandas are out - what a beautiful sight. It was pretty hot, no wonder the kids were grumpy till all the clothes came off! (nappy not included) I put Porky on her tummy with some of Sinjons toys in front of her. Our little girl was grabbing at the blanket she was lying on trying to pull herself forward! Her little legs were flapping like a frog. She was grunting loud and clear, like only sooty can do. At this rate she'll loose that porky before she's a loveable tubby tot!
![]() On our walk back to the Cathedral Place play group, I got pretty burnt. It was great seeing the girls and their babies. Hugo is now 4 weeks, was born the same as Hannah... Hannah is HUGE! ![]() I'm not sure what is going on. It seems like Hannah is having nightmares. She startes screaming and cant be calmed., but she doesn't seem to wake up. It is strange. I have just settled her down again, we'll see how long it lasts. It breaks my heart to hear her cry like that. It's crys like that that I wish Chris was home, it breaks me in half and I need my cuddle to fix me! Dad will you teach me? ... Please?? ![]() 5th November 2008 Morning Milestones This morning our little princess had a couple of more 'firsts'. With this new routine Hannah doesn't get/wake up until nearly 7am. Chris rings at about 6.30 so I usually have 1/2 hr to myself before the day begins. Unfortunatly Hannah usually has her most alert and active time not long after she wakes. Sometimes this is within minutes of getting off the phone to Chris, so I franticly try and catch him. More often than not we're about 15min late. It breaks my heart not being able to share our joy of new achievements with Daddy. First thing this morning I heard a babble of noise coming from the room. Hannah was having a great chat with Hadi! When we sat of the floor for our little play before breakfast, Hannah held her head up when I pulled her up from my lap! What a girl! I was so proud of her. I AM so proud of her. We then played a game where I poke my tongue out to her - and guess what. The little tiger did it back! Yiipeee!! She was my copy cat. With the tongue and smiles. Wow.! She is growing up so quickly. When she went down for her first sleep of the day, we headed out to pick up the Hammock. Believe it or not, I put it up and transfered her from the capsule to the Hammock .... and not a peep! She has had a few long sleeps in her new bed. Yay! She likes it! This will be her bed on the boat over in WA... 6 more sleeps (for me). ![]() Tonight we had some tummy time. Look at her! She is pushing herself up and doing a frog leg thing. She's trying to crawl. This time we could share it with Chris. We are soooo proud of her. What and amazing girl. ![]() 4th November 2008 The race that stops the nation Today is the race that stops the nation... the race we teach our newborns the art of gambling! The melbourne cup! Hannah dressed in her finest (her Hat didn't fit) and we headed to our mothers group. We had a sweep, believe it or not but the babys won the race! It was a very different race for the girls. We had a glass of bubbles, and had to whisper our cheers so as not to wake some of the babies. It was quite funny looking up and seeing a race and wondering if it is 'the' race, realising it is then whispering the cheers! All in all it was great fun. Hannah slept through the race, but loved watching the re-runs on the news. ![]() 3rd November 2008 Testing Times Today is our first day in ages with nothing to do. I think Hannah works better when we are out and about, today she was so restless. Sleeps wouldn't last longer than 20 min at a time. By the afternoon I was feeling pretty worn down. I rang an SOS to Tanya another mother in the block, so we met by the pool. What a relief. Maybe we needed an outing as Hannah has gone to bed a little early but is still sound asleep! 2nd November 2008 Dinner at Dads Hannah and I headed over to Dads for a yummy dinner and a wonderful commy. Helen took Hannah for a walk through the gardens. Hannah loved the smell of the Jasmine and colours of the flowers. Hannah went to sleep on time. Even with this disruption, Hannah is still able to sleep on time. ![]() 1st November 2008 School Days This morning we headed down to graceville for morning coffee with the Hoare side of the family. It was great seeing Dad and Helen and catching up with Judy and her family. From there we headed upto Mattea's place. A girls night out with our babes and no big boys. Mattea and Nikki, wonderful school friends with their little baby boys. What cute little boys. Connor, with his curly blonde hair loved little Hannah, while Lauchlan slid in his 'nearly' crawling way all over the floor (he really could scoot!) It was great seeing the age difference and what they are like., or more to the point, what I have to look forward to. When the kids went to bed, the girls got to relax and have a party. By 9pm we were all looking at each other so tired. That's kids.
![]() Hannah was a dream. She slept so well that night. I guess having a little help on the side made all the differnece. ![]() Andrew, Matteas hubby, is a keen boatie. So Hannah got to try on her first life jacket. I am trying to find one to take over to WA on the boat. ![]() Thanks Mattea we had a wonderful time. 31st October 2008 Family & Friends Oh what a morning. Hannah up way to early. Oh well we'll keep working on this 'routine thing'. In the mean time, she managed to do a 'push up' off my shoulder! I know - isn't she wonderful. She also did one in the bath tonight. I got so excited cheering her on she did it again! Yes yes I am very proud mum. It was like winning silver at the olympics (gold was when she smiled). When she did her first push up, I tried to ring Chris before he started work so he could share this momentus time. Poppy Des came over for cuddles this morning. How Hannah enjoyed the cuddles. She ended up nuzzled in the crook of Desies arm sound asleep. Ahh the joys of a sleeping baby. Des coming over was just the kick in the bottom I needed to clean up the unit. I'd become a little lazy keeping everything within reach on the floor. ![]() We had lunch today with Colly, Janene and Julie. It was wonderful catching up with the girls. Hannah was perfect. She grizzled on que for her lunchtime sleep. She didn't take long to go to sleep (what a girl!). Is this routine thing working? or was this a fluke? When Hannah had some 'up time' she gave Colly and Julie the big smiles and gurgles. Finally after a busy afternoon falling sound asleep on Julies lap. What a wonderful day with family and friends. ![]() ![]() Tonight I have put Hannah to bed. She has this habit (ok she did this last night too) of staring at the bedside clock for about 1/2 hr before going to sleep. That must be another trait of mine - I do it to counting down the min for Chris to call. 30th October 2008 Sleep Time Sucks (9 weeks today) This morning again we woke up slightly wet. Hannah's right sleeve was soaked as was the area around her head! After hearing the loud but constant sucking/ slurp sound I found the reason... Hannah has found her fist! She has now stopped bashing herself in the face, but catching her fist with her mouth! I'm so proud of her. ![]() Today is the day I have decided to try her with a 'routine'. I have read this book that all the girls are raving about, so I decided to try it. Firstly the baby has to be fed at 7am. Well that was the first hard thing to follow. Hannah was up at 5! so I topped her up at 7, then I had to wait till 8.15am before putting her to bed. This was a challange as she'd been up so long. but I managed that. The next step was to try and put her to bed a) with out the dummy (oh god) and b) let her cry for 6 min. I thought easy 6 mins isn't that long. WRONG! She was already so tired that she was crying to go to bed, when I put her in she started to become hysterical. I lasted 3 min before desperatly ringing Anna (crying myself) saying 'you have to talk to me for 2 more min'. She said to go in. Thank-you! I gave her the dummy and a tickle on her forehead and with in 2 min she was sound asleep. This sleep routine thing sucks! I will keep trying though, but I think I'll do one thing at a time. put her into bed on time, I feel 4 min is the limit and I'll battle the dummy later on. I can't handle her tears and me... well I cry enough with exhaustion and missing Chris, to needlessly add her stress to the list. I have been following the routine for the rest of the day. It was hard waking her up to feed her, but she ate and her awake time she was more alert. And it has been funny.... she is ready to go to bed for the next sleep time without a fuss. Yes the dummy is still there. I'll start that battle on Monday.... I'll start the diet then too :o) We went down for our Cathedral Place playgroup by the pool. We now have a new 4 week old join. He was the same wieght as Hannah - my goodness she is a monster compared to him now. Yep our little baby is growing. Tanya has a little boy Sinjon - he is adorable. At 14 weeks is already getting teeth. The poor little tiger. Tanya is very creative, her job before being a mum was creating the cartoon people for computer games. All way over my head, but she said she'll help me with photoshop etc. I'm keen to learn. Wish me luck for the rest of this night time routine thing.... ![]() 29th October 2008 Something of me Hannah is very much her Dad. Hannah looks like Chris as a baby .... me - nah - I just made her! In the last few days I am finally finding something of me! Just a 'look' or a frown seems to be me, but the clincher was last night. Hannah loves to cuddle up close when she sleeps. I will put her right on Chris' side of the bed and she will wriggle until she is nearly under me! So there! all you people who thought it was 'weird' I slept with Hadi the elephant for so long - well it has taught me not to roll on little people! anyway lots of people like to cuddle. The clincher was when she threw her leg over my arm and cuddled in. I do that to Chris's leg! She is mine! Tina - I just had a 'big toe' moment! What a warm fuzzy feeling. ![]() Lots! Always! Now! 28th October 2008 Puddle of Love (2 months today!) This morning I woke to a very wet bed... I find it funny how Hannah loves cuddles. She wedges herself in with me then proceeds to make the bed nice and warm.... I didn't bother getting her out and changed - why she was sound asleep. It must have done something, as she slept till 6.20! Keep it up darling (without the mess :o) ![]() Today we went to our baby group started by QLD Health. It was great. We were there for 3 hours. The girls are lovely and the babies just amazing. i am looking forward to the time Hannah is big enough to enjoy/ interact with the kids. ![]() From there we went to Chermside. I walked up and back so many times with a very grumpy little lady. I'm exhausted and she is passed out on the floor. I think its time I join her. 27th October 2008 Look Who's Talking! Today I had the pleasure of having a very interesting conversation with our little girl! I do believe Hannah understood what we were saying because she was smiling and wriggling around, I only heard the 'gagh' but I got a hell of alot out of her pleasure in 'talking'. She tried another little chat before she went to bed. At this rate she'll be talking by the time we get to see Dad in 2 weeks! Hannah had a very 'alert' day today. We went for a walk into town. She really enjoyed being able to see everything. It made it hard when she didn't like the sunlight (or bright lights or the reflection from the buildings) in her face but didn't want to be covered so she could see everything. Last night Hannah went to bed in her cradle... by the time I went to bed, Hannah appeard to be trying to escape! I think she has out grown her little cradle. Good to know Hannah has a Hammock on its way! In the mean time Chris has lost his side of the bed. ![]() 26th October 2008 Our First Sleep Over Friday was the day we have been looking forward to all week! We were off to Anna's place for our first sleep over. How exciting! I was up thursday night packing the car and going over in my head all the things we need to do BEFORE we leave to make this drive easy for both of us. I couldn't sleep much counting down the hours to seeing Anna. Hannah got up bright and early 5am start. We ate got ready and was in the car by 6.30. We drove up to the shed then onto the coast. Hannah was a dream. She didn't wake up until we hit Cooroy township where I had to stop to calm the little lady down, for the last 10 min up to Annas place. As usual Anna and Emma had the biggest smiles to greet us. As usual, I went flying past my best friend to land safe and sound on the toilet (some things never change). Lucky Anna has two arms :o) Kate (Anna's sister) came over with her baby Bella. Bells is starting to walk and was great entertainment for Emma and Hannah. I haven't seen Kate for ages - she is growing into a wonderful mother and woman. ![]() Anna and I did little all day. Emma was teething, poor little thing. Emma - acting up and grizzling (for Emma, that means crying and being as demanding as any normal little babe). Even with sore gums, Emma had lots of smiles for me. ![]() The day all changed when Lily arrived home. Lily was amazing with the babies. She kept them entertained while Anna and I had time together. Emma goes to bed in her amazing hammock, while Hannah decided to make her first sleep over very memorable. Firstly she decides to grunt and groan until she had made a pooey mess of herself. Thankfully Anna just went to action cleaning Hannah, while I cleaned the mess everywhere else. So my little princess nice and clean lays down on the bouncer (that wasn't bouncing). We thought she was asleep...NOOO we hear a big grunt and sure enough my little darling has vomited ALL over herself, enough to puddle in the bottom of the seat! Back into action we go. Finally we fall asleep. Hannah and I shared a single bed and I think it was the best sleep we have had since Chris went away. How could I not stay another night? It didn't take long for us to feel like a little family..... I even got everyones names muddled up - Lily Emma Anna Hannah ...yeh Hannah.... that's it! The weekend was just the tonic I needed. Anna - how do you do it every time? Lily was amazing. She has such a way with the girls (I tried to kidnap her but I couldn't take her without her mum.... that was okay it was when Mat had to come too that I thought the unit was to small :o). What a team. Oh and Mat - what can I say about the poor guy who managed to stay alive around 5 girls! Thankyou! ![]() Week of Doctors Hannahs 6 week check up - at 8 weeks This week we have had a few doctors appointments. First we had Hannah be checked out by Dr David Moore (Chris batman, cousin David robin). Hannah had been quite grumpy and over tired, or was that me? Anyway we get to the Wesley and park the car under the tree at the bottom of the hill. Why would you put a hospital in the middle of very steep hills? Anyway our little princess was FINALLY asleep, so the last thing I was going to do was wake her. Out comes the capsule and off I trudge up the hill. If nothing else my thighs and bum burnt so it must have done somthing, even if my back and shoulder was about to crumble. So I get to the docotrs rooms and realise I didn't bring the all important 'little red book'. Yes the way the nurses talk it may well be the one from China that you get struck down if you don't have it. OH No! I was not going to trudge with the capsule ALL the way back to the car. So I leave sleeping Hannah with the lady at reception (and all the other mothers in the waiting room who wanted a small baby again :o) and RAN back to the car. The whole time willing the lifts to go faster, panicking that my baby would wake up and scream the house down. Arriving back on the floor I heard crying. Oh god! It is a different cry than I know she must be hysterical. I run to the door, fling it open to see little Hannah sound asleep sucking wildly on her dummy. Phew. Apparently she grunted (not unusual for our girl whom Chris calls Sooty :o) so they put the dummy back and all was well. Good for her. I was ready to keel over! Dr David calls us in. Hannah wakes up on que and smiles.... we strip her down to be weighed and checked out. She goos, gaas, smiles and puts on the perftect act of amazing baby. It goes without saying that I was just entranced by her and completely forgot every question I had. Why nothing was wrong THEN! Every hard earned step back down that hill I was saying 'damn! I forogt to ask this.... or that... or....' At least Hannah had the decency to give me a smile (that makes it all okay -for now). I know everybody says make a list. I did! it is still with all my other lists on the kitchen bench. My 6 week check up at 8 weeks My doctors appointment was at 11.45am on Wickham Tce in town. What a great chance to walk into town, get the mail, go shopping and head up the massive hill to doctors. It was two days after the last hill attack... I forogt....At least this time we were in a pram :o) So we head off into town. We did all our little jobs, here there and everywhere. I gave myself plenty of time to get up the hill. Sure enough I get to the rooms puffing and panting. Where i was informed.... I'm a day early! She kindly rescheduled me for 1.45. That made me feel better - I only got 1 number wrong. To fill in the 2 hours we headed down to Roma St Parkland. It really is very beautiful. It was ashame that Hannah was asleep (and so little) we (I) saw so many lizards, birds, smelt beautiful flowers. When she woke up we sat by a water feature under the dappled shade of a tree looking at the amazing jacarandas. She drank up big and loved being out under the trees. When the time was up we headed back to the doctors. We had a chat about the birth. I was a little delerious when he explained it the first time at the hospital. All in all I'm doing ok. Hannah won over everyone in the waiting room while I was in with the Doc. Then we headed back home. It was a very big day and I had walked a fair way. ready for an early night. 19th October 2008 Happy Smiles :o) Over the last couple of days Hannah has been blessing me with some wonderful smiles. I am sure it is to keep me going through these testing days. Last night after her 3am feed I went to bed to hear her giggles! I really have no idea what she thought was so funny, I am sure she is laughing at Mum running around after her! ![]() My friend Donelle came over today. What a wonderful time. Hannah was a little grizzle guts the whole time. Dee looked after the little princess while I unloaded the car. Cripes little things can be so hard not having someone to look after our little girl. So now the car is empty of stinky fertiliser. Dee gave Hannah a bath, I think it was the only time grizzle guts was happy! Boy she loves her bath. 18th October 2008 Seeing my Family Today Justin and Julie came over. Wonderful Justin helped me pick up a mirror I purchased over a month ago! While Julie looked after the little princess. Hannah loved Justins blue and white Hawaiian shirt and followed him around the room. Julie was in her eliment - are real mum in the making. Thankfully Hannah was happy while I was out. When they left I decided to venture out to Spotlight. I had decided I wanted to become crafty - Oh dear, there is so much stuff there that I got overwhelmed and left with nothing. But I did go next door to the Hardware and purchased 6 sacks of fertiliser..... it wasn't until I got into the car did I realise that a) it stinks b) how do I get it from the car to the unit with Hannah in tow? We went to Grandads for dinner. It was a wonderful dinner for me and Hannah had lots of cuddles finally falling asleep with the elephants. ![]() 9th October 2008 Moffat Madness We've come upto Caloundra for a couple of days, to see my little friends while they were staying with Dad and Helen at Moffat Beach. It was intersting to arrive at grandma's unit and not have glitter on the walls and nothing on the floor! The lack of sparkles was a change for the better, but the no carpet made the multiple midnight feeds hard. At grandmas we had time to relax and have lots of cuddles.
![]() The kids were great. Chris swam with them and I kept topping up on my cuddle qutoa. For the first time I had to share my cuddles with Hannah! Lucky those kids have a bottomless pit of cuddles. ![]() One night Anna came down with her girls for fish and chips. Zoe and Lily gave us made up concerts. Mattie joined the girls after playing some back yard cricket. Emma and Hannah were being lovingly looked on by Anna, Teens and Myself. While the big boys hunted and gathered dinner.
![]() It was great seeing the kids playing and the babies growing bigger together. I loved having my favorite kids all together. I think Dad was just chuffed having his girls and their families with him. It was great. 5th October 2008 Rivers, Cliffs and a Ferry Ride This moring was such a beautiful day Chris and I decided to take our little girl for a walk along the river. On the way we stopped for a yummy breakfast over looking the boats. It bought back all the memories of living on Diandi in WA. We ended up walking down to the goodwill bridge, back along Kangaroo Point. Poor Chris was chomping at the bit to go for a climb... it was a shame we didn't even bring his shoes, but we did bump into quite a few of the climbing friends. After getting quite hot and feeling the big walk we decided to get back across the river on a ferry. This was Hannahs very first boat adventrure. ![]() 27th September 2008 Our very first Wedding "One day in September" ahh the Aussie Rules grand final! The day Chris has been counting down all year. The day every Aussie Rules football supporter and the ring in stop to support, cheer and abuse the umpires on the screen; even if you don't like either team. You stop to watch.... This year we had a very dear friends, Sharon and Clints wedding to go to. It was Hannahs first and she dressed up in her finest which Clint (the Groom) mother made for her. She was beautiful, the wedding was wonderful. Very relaxed and a most enjoyable afternoon.
![]() When we left, the radio was off. Not a word of football could be spoken until Chris could get home and watch the recorded game. Somehow he managed to get home without a hint of the game. Meeting my cousins & getting the Biggest Cuddles in the WORLD! After dropping chris off to watch the footy, we headed over to Nona's place to see Zoe and Mattie. Oh what big cuddles we had. I miss having the biggest cuddles in the world! Zoe and Mattie, were amazing. Zoe
cuddled Hannah for a whole 1/2 hour! Hannah was a little
tired and restless so Mattie tried the picka boo game not realising
Hannah isn't big enough. When that didn't work he wasn't as
interested.
It didn't take long for Noodle and Monkey to be
inducted
into the baby game. Poor Mattie was very helpful with the
dirtiest nappy I think Hannah had EVER done! He screwed up
his
face a little but pulled through and we got Hannah cleaned up with out
an incident. Then Zoe helped me feed Hannah, which ended up
in
her projectile vomiting all over me! This time Zoe came to
the
party and helped mop me up and change Hannah..... Why did
this
all have to happen at Nona's? Nona was great and made it all
feel
so 'normal'. I was impressed with the kids... who still
wanted to
love and hold Hannah after all that!
![]() After a very eventful time Chris helped me bring Hannah up from the car. In the short time she projectile vomited all over Chris. This led to her very first shower. Oh what a water baby - she loved it! ![]() Hannah Mouse or is it Sooty Grunter Daddy named our little girl Hannah. It didn't take long for us to realise that this name does not quite 'fit' our little girl. When she is quite she has a squeek like a little mouse, needless to say we sing "Hannah mouse" (the mickey mouse song) to her all the time. Then there are other times, usually around 3am where we think there may be a Tassie devil in the room. This is the time she has turned into Sooty Grunter. Now for all you fishermen out there who know about Sooty, they are not good to eat but I can tell you this one is great to kiss! See the resembalance? ![]() 15th Septemeber 2008 Meeting my old friend and Hannahs new one We had a big week being 1 month old. Anna, Emma and Mat came down to vist us in our new unit. Anna couldn't believe how little Hannah was. Anna is great. She is my first port of call for all my questions and worries. I am blessed to have a friend who will listen to my ranting, often not even making any sense and then working it through so it all goes away. LYLAS and even more old friend!
![]() 7th Septermber 2008 Sisters!!!!!!! The day I was born I first saw my big sister. At 10 days old I fit in her arms better. ![]() ![]() Showing off our new addition to the Wesley Ward Don't you love the socks you have to wear! ![]() ![]() 28th August 2008 A Family is born At 9.25am this morning our little girl came into this world. After 16 hours of labour our baby girl was born by Caeser. Our little girls heart rate started dropping and she decided to turn her head so she wouldn't be able to come out the 'right way'. I don't remember much of the operation, but I will never forget the babies first cry and the feeling of my tears rolling down my cheeks. The feeling was amazing, when I hadn't even seen her yet. Chris cut the umbilical cord and brought her over to me. I don't think I have ever seen a wrinkly little worm more beautiful. It then became very traumatic. Chris (on my insistance) went with our baby to be weighed and measured, while I was cleaned up and sent to the general recovery ward. It took nearly an hour before the nurses would listen to me and send me to my room. When I was wheeled back to my room I was frantic looking for Chris. As I arrived through the doors I saw the most beautiful sight, Mum holding and kissing this little bundle and giving her all the love she needed while I wasn't there.... Where's Chris!?!? I look around to see him running into the room. He wraped his arms around me and just held me. I don't think I will ever forget the feeling of his strength and support. Phew I am whole again. Then I got to meet our girl again. I'm in love :o) I have been told that when you have a baby you realise your heart can beat outside your body. It sure is beating. ![]() This is minutes after Hannah was born. Before you were born How I've changed since april 08.... I would have been about 3 1/2 - 4 months pregnant. I can't say I didn't have cravings.... look at the size of that cake! |
